Et tu, Consumer Reports?

Posted in Uncategorized at 10:25 am by gsoteapartygirl

Once again, the media lets us down. I was saddened, but not surprised to hear of ABC’s special shill for healthcare “reform” last week. No one should be surprised by that — they’ve shown their bias over and over again. But I was startled this morning when reading the latest Consumer Reports that they too are pushing hard for Obama’s healthcare reform and trotting out the same lies; perhaps the most galling of which is “if you are happy with your current plan, you’ll be able to keep it.” Lots of other people have shot that down more eloquently than I can, but it’s just not true.

What I found really troubling is that Consumer Reports (I thought) prides itself on being a nonbiased source of information for its readers and subscribers. I guess that is no longer the case since now it is shilling for the WH. Here’s a link to their blog post on the issue: http://blogs.consumerreports.org/health/2009/06/shattering-the-myths-about-health-reform.html

Maybe the government will not directly force you to change your health plan and your doctors but, if a government plan is offered & it is cheaper than the current plan you get through your employer, it seems pretty obvious that there is a high likelihood that your employer will choose to purchase your health insurance elsewhere, now isn’t there? We don’t have to be rocket scientists to figure that out.

We do have some serious problems with health care in this country — mostly the skyrocketing costs. Having a government-run program is not the solution. Has anyone looked at Canada? Britain? Heck, Medicare? The VA System.

I don’t have any problem with CR helping its readers to understand the issues that we face in regards to health care in this country — what I have a problem with is their pretending to be nonbiased & then reporting things as fact that aren’t true and seems to suspiciously echo Obama’s own words.

Folks, we have absolutely GOT to keep congress out of our healthcare! A health insurance entitlement is one that we can not pull back so easily.
