Calling All Tea Party Patriots — Get Local!

Posted in Uncategorized at 10:52 am by gsoteapartygirl

Here in GSO, we have a pretty important local election coming up — namely that the entire City Council is up for (re)election.  The saying “All Politics is Local” is true and every one of us needs to get out and vote, if not on November 3rd, then now, since early voting has already started.

We’ve compiled some information about the local elections on GreeneFields and I will try and update it soon, although there is already lots of useful stuff there, including links to the candidates’ websites, organized by seat/candidate.

If you believe that GSO has been on the wrong path recently, then it is your obligation to vote and make your voice heard!

  1. Ken said,

Don’t just get frustrated – take strong local action! Let’s form a Guilford County non-partisan political action committee (PAC) that offers votes to selected candidates of either major party or independents who pledge to actively promote a platform of 3 reform ideas which are neither liberal nor conservative – just pro-efficiency and pro-freedom:
    1. term limits for county, state & federal officials & judges
    2. “square-like” election districts after this upcoming census (this requirement will prevent most gerrymandering that protects incumbants & big parties)
    3. Bureaucrat’s Bonus Program – sharing 10% of reductions in government cash expenditures that each bureaucrat can prove stayed off for at least 2 full fiscal years (to prevent budget game illusionary “savings”)

Part of the plan would be to hold rallies at several intervals AFTER election(say, 3 and 6 months) to draw pressure newly elected officials to stay honest and true to their word.

Please email me if you are interested in taking this kind of positive, strong action rather than just protest. I participate in protests because I think they help hold our elected employees accountable, but we need to add a positive pressure force to turn around our state and nation.
